Empowering Lives Through Health, Education & Clean Water
A movement of changemakers walking with communities to bring health, education, and clean water to those often left behind.
From displacement to empowerment - the journey that shaped our mission
Peace Nomads was born from a simple belief: that lasting change happens when we walk with communities, not ahead of them. Founded in 2018 by a group of diaspora professionals who had experienced displacement firsthand, our organization emerged from the understanding that the most effective solutions come from those who truly understand the challenges.
Our founders, having navigated their own journeys from refugee camps to professional success in the United States, recognized the gap between well-intentioned aid and culturally rooted, sustainable solutions. They envisioned an organization that would bridge this gap by honoring community wisdom while providing access to modern resources and opportunities.
Today, Peace Nomads operates across East Africa and the United States, serving thousands of families through programs that prioritize dignity, sustainability, and community ownership. We are not just an organization—we are a movement of people committed to creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Our mission and vision guide every decision we make and every program we implement.
A world where every person - regardless of their background, location, or status - has the opportunity to live in good health, access transformative education, and drink clean & safe water. We envision communities that are resilient, self-sufficient, and empowered to create their own solutions.
At Peace Nomads, we walk alongside underserved and displaced communities to strengthen public health, enhance access to education, and secure safe drinking water. All our work is community-led, culturally respectful, and built to last. We believe in creating change with people, not for them.
These principles guide everything we do and shape how we work with communities around the world.
Everyone deserves access to the same basic rights and resources, regardless of their circumstances.
The most effective solutions are often the simplest, most accessible, and easiest to maintain.
We work with communities, not for them, ensuring local ownership and sustainable impact.
Local traditions, languages, and leadership are our starting point for all program development.
We build systems and skills that last long after we leave, ensuring lasting community impact.
We lead with honesty and transparency to earn lasting community trust.
Our leadership team brings together diverse expertise in public health, education, technology, and community development.
